Bat Country 2010 Camp Plan
Amidst the shining towers of every Metropolis are the dark alleys, home to the "new scum" and of activities best kept in the shadows. Bat Country is that path out of the light, a transmetropolitan dwelling for high powered mutants. "All we've actually got is each other. You decide what that means"

Bat Country exists not only as a place for HST enthusiasts around the world to unite on the playa and celebrate the good doctor, but also to carry on the gonzo dream. Bat Country is a relatively low budget, high energy camp driven by high powered mutants that work around the clock to create an extremely unique and engaging camp that rivals any of the high budget extremely organized camps out there.
This year we are dubbing ourselves the Bat Country Ghetto, and constructing a camp that is in essence a long narrow alleyway that once you get sucked into you may never leave. Every Metropolis has a ghetto, we are simply the ghetto of the BRC.
We do not focus on one object or art project within our camp by try to democratically and anarchistically work on and make multiple things happen. The goal is to engage everyone that comes into our camp in a different and often multiple way(s). Different attractions we are doing this year:

Structures:
- Interactive Graffiti Art. throughout the camp we will have interactive graffiti style of art. these will be both daytime and nighttime things. every day and every night the mood in bat country will change with help from these. we have a team of dedicated artists and welcome people that want to contribute as well. - Red Light District. located not too far from our bar. More Details
- Dodecahedron Dome. this is a new dome we are building this year which is in the shape of a dodecahedron. it is custom built to have 3 gigantic openings. we will use this for a dance area.
- Bastards the Bar. taking a note from Transmetropolitan, we are re-creating the bar 'Bastards'. a very unique wooden structure, complete with a midget room.
- Flaming Tetherball (2x) this year we are ramping up our flaming tetherball installation and bringing a second one onboard.
- Burn Barrel. will provide a central area to get some heat and observe the different areas of the camp and activities going on.
- Rasta Dome. this is a smaller shadier chill dome, a little farther away from the action.
- Double Bubble Lounge. a place to have a seat not too far from the beats but still be in the action.
- Scum Lounge. full of filthy degenerates and ex mint 400 competitors, this is the place to get your literary grime on and get some dust in your beer.
- Sound system / DJ Booth / Stage. throughout the week bat country will be offering the best selection of dubstep, breaks, drum and bass, house and many other types of music and performances, even some live speaking and reading of the good doctor, as well as a live band on certain nights. - Pin the tail on the mayor.
- Pittsburgh Wednesday. steelers, pierogies, and many more pittsburgh related happenings.
- Dumpster Gloryhole Corndog Surrender Project. a social experiment.

- McIlvain telephone wire shoe toss
- Sunday Dumpster party
- Spray Paint Huffer Night
- More events still being organized in time for playa.
